Samantha Ruth Prabhu is battling the autoimmune disease myositis. These types of diseases occur when the immune system provides an abnormal response to a healthy part of the body. There are more than 80 types of autoimmune diseases.

Myositis, the condition Samantha was diagnosed with, refers to not one, but a group of rare conditions. It’s a condition that causes her immune system to attack her muscles. The disease can be caused by one or more multiple conditions that lead to inflammation of the muscles. The main symptoms are muscle pain and weakness, which worsen over time. One may also trip or fall a lot or even feel tired after walking.

Selena Gomez – Lupus

Renowned Latin American singer-songwriter Selena Gomez revealed her lupus diagnosis in 2015. She is known to be heavily involved in spreading awareness about the disease. The Wolves singer has spoken several times about how she’s handling the conditions.

Doctors conclude that a patient has fibromyalgia when all other possible causes are ruled out. Symptoms such as difficulty sleeping, fatigue, and debilitating pain are common.

Nick Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 13. In this condition, the pancreas produces little or no insulin. The patient continues to rely on insulin injections or medication to survive. The disease is usually detected in adolescence. Although treatment can help, the chronic condition cannot be cured. Maintaining a strict diet and exercise routine is important to control the disease.
